A flavorful take on tacos, inspired by egg rolls.
Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seed oil
  • ¼ cup diced white onion
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1lb Odom's Tennessee Pride Mild Country Sausage
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 6-8" flour tortillas
  • tri-color shredded cabbage
  • green onions, diced
  • red onion, diced
  • SAUCE:
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (1 tsp for less spice, up to 2 tbsp for more)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
Instructions
  1. To make the sauce, add the listed sauce ingredients to sauce pan. Simmer for 3-5 minutes, allowing the mixture to thicken. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Store in refrigerator.
  2. Combined sesame seed oil, diced white onions, minced garlic, ginger and sausage in a large skillet. Brown the sausage over medium heat, cooking until sausage is crumbled and no longer pink. Drain and put mixture into serving bowl.
  3. Heat a small skillet over medium heat. Spray the skillet with cooking spray, and add a tortilla. Fry for about 30-60 seconds and flip, until each side is browned.
  4. Fold warmed tortilla to make a taco and fill with sausage mixture. Top with shredded cabbage, red onions, chives and homemade sweet and spicy sauce.
