When I was pregnant with my first born, I remember reading countless books and articles about being a mom. Of course, it was hard to really understand any of it until I went through the situations firsthand. When the kids said their first words and started repeating everything we said, I started to connect with the importance of leading by example.

I am being provided with a race entry, however I already signed up for this race and all opinions are my own. #HairbandsAndHeadbands

As my running buddy and I started the year, we had a goal of running a dozen 5K races in 2015, approximately one a month. With the cold weather and busy schedules, we have yet to start that goal. However, we have already registered for 5, with more on our radar as we work them in this spring & summer.

At least once a month I try to get out and go shopping with my mom. Most of the time the kids and my dad come along. Then my dad takes the boys to the play areas so we can shop with a little more ease than usual (and grandpa gets his time with the boys). It’s nice to have that time with my mom. And for the last year or so, I have been slowly trying to expand my accessories and clothing options.

Boys. I’m outnumbered just about every day by boys. Before I knew I was going to have three kids, I never thought I’d be the only girl in the house (besides the dog). Most of my family members outside of the home are also males. Since I work from home, I don’t have co-workers to interact with face-to-face each day. So there aren’t many times I get to have ‘girly’ moments.

When it comes to the cold & flu season, this winter has been a rough one. Actually, rough is putting it mildly. Up until this year, we were pretty fortunate. The kids barely got sick and we had few visits to the doctor’s office. So what changed?

Here in the wonderful Midwest, it’s been cold, snowy, and just plain dreary. I can’t express enough how much I am ready for warmer weather. I could really use a vacation to a beach, but I will settle with flip-flop weather here.
