August 11 & 12 Lowes Free Kids Workshop – Shrek Dragon

Lowes Free Build and Grow Clinic August

Lowe’s offers a great ‘Build and Grow’ Clinic for kids. This weekend they are offering the same clinic at two different times: Saturday, August 11th at 10am and Sunday, August 12th at 2pm. The kids will be building a Shrek Dragon Ride.

The first 50 to register and be present at the store will receive the kit, an apron, and goggles. the recommended ages is 1st-5th grade.

2012 Tax Free Weekend – August 3-5 (Missouri and More)

2012 Tax Free Weekend

Numerous states are having Back to School Sales Tax Holiday this weekend. I have listed them below with a link for more information to what is included.

Today, August 3rd, is the start of Missouri’s Tax Free Weekend. Qualifying purchases include any article of clothing under $100, $50 worth of school supplies per purchase, computer software under $350, and computers under $3500. Some cities and counties have elected NOT to participate. View that list here. Some local St. Louis area cities NOT participating are:

Free Home Depot Kids Workshop Aug 4 – Build a Cork Bulletin Board

Free Home Depot Kids Workshop April 2012

This Saturday, August 4th, Home Depot is having another FREE workshop for kids, ages 5-12. The event is 9am – 12pm. This month they are making a cork bulletin board! The kids will not only get to keep their completed project, but they also receive a kid-size orange apron, commemorative pin, and certificate of achievement. Every kids is also provided with Dr. Seuss’ Lorax activity sheets, Lorax create-you-own mustache kits, and Lorax sticker sheets.
