Easy Air Fryer Churros using Puff Pastry Sheets

Being at home 24/7 these days has meant way more cooking and baking. Somehow, it has also meant more dessert cravings. Not too long ago, the boys were asking for churros, almost daily. Looking through everything we had in the house, we decided to make some using puff pastry sheets in the air fryer. 

The result was a flaky treat with that delicious cinnamon-sugar flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of frozen puff pastry sheets
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 teaspoons ground cinnamon


Easy Air Fryer Churros using Puff Pastry Sheets

Thaw the puff pastry sheets at room temperature for about 15 minutes. When almost thawed, cut pastry sheets into thirds, at the folds.

Then cut each third into 1-1.5″ wide strips.

Preheat air fryer to 400° for 3 minutes.

Thoroughly mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.

Put strips of pastry into the air fryer basket in a single layer for 6-8 minutes, until golden.

Remove and immediately toss strips in the sugar mixture, coating completely.

Place on a cooling rack for a few minutes.

Serve warm (with chocolate, caramel, vanilla ice cream, or hazelnut spread, if desired).
