Winter and whiskey, two things that just go together. This Cranberry Orange Whisky Cocktail is a fabulous holiday Maker’s Mark drink.
During the warmer months, my go-to bourbon drink is a Cherry Lemonade Whisky Cocktail. It is a great summer refresher, but when I am looking for something to enjoy during the colder winter months, I prefer to bring out the cranberry and orange flavors.
Of course, you can make this drink with other whiskeys, but the signature red wax-sealed bottles are what I always gravitate to. Did you know that it is aged to taste and usually takes between six to seven years for it to be ready? All the little things behind Maker’s Mark are just a bonus to its great taste.
This winter cocktail is great for holiday gatherings and New Years’ parties, or any other time you want to mix something up with your Maker’s Mark.
Maker’s Mark Cranberry Orange Cocktail
Ingredients:
- 1 part Maker’s Mark
- 1 part orange juice
- 1 part cranberry juice
- 1/2 to 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- Fresh orange slice, rosemary sprig, and/or cranberries for garnish (optional)
Pour equal parts Maker’s Mark, orange juice, and cranberry juice into a glass filled with ice.
Gently stir and add in the preferred amount of maple syrup. I typically do 1 tablespoon if each parts liquid is 2oz each or more (and 1/2 tablespoon if it is less).
Top with garnish, if desired. If you have them on hand, I recommend a thin orange slice, rosemary sprig, and cranberries. The rosemary is the perfect touch for an additional holiday flavor.
