Minecraft is something that came into my life in full-force. I understand most of the Minecraft terminology, yet I don’t really know how to play it. Honestly, the gaming controllers intimate me these days. However, for my boys it is a completely different story. They love playing it and from what I can tell, they have learned a lot from the game.

If you don’t know what Minecraft is, it’s a game about placing blocks and going on adventures. Players explore randomly generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles. It is very family-friendly and great for kids.

The kids can play in survival mode, in which they have to collect resources, craft weapons and supplies, mine deep in caves, farm crops, manage hunger and do what it take to survive. They also can play in creative mode with access to unlimited resources to do with as they please. I watch the boys build complicated contraptions, learn mathematics through blocks and crafting needs and they never fail to amaze me. It really fuels their imaginations.
