When it comes to trucks and cars, my kids can’t get enough of them. Between all three boys, they have more things with wheels than I knew could exist in one house. And just when I think they have just about everything, Toy State never fails to surprise me. They have hundreds of vehicles with unique features that can create hours of entertainment for both kids and adults alike. Their Road Rippers collection now has Monster Trucks to add their product line.
Let me introduce you to Tankzilla, one of Toy State’s 10″ Monster Trucks. He comes equipped with the required three AA batteries so the fun can start immediately. It’s a pretty good sized truck measuring in at 10″ long and 9″ tall. The wheels are over half the height of the truck! Unlike the other Monster Trucks, Tankzilla has wheels that resemble a tank with a rubber tread ‘belt’ around the tires. My kids thought it was the coolest thing because none of their toys or trucks have that.
There are six buttons on the top of the truck for interaction. Each one causes a different action triggering real-life monster truck sounds, flashing lights (on the ‘rings’ in the front), driving tunes, and forward/reverse motions. The sounds are fun and quickly grabs the attention of all of my sons, rather they are playing with it or not. At first (to attempt to get them to share) they sat across from each other, they sent the truck back and forth to each other by pushing the button to make it go forward or reverse. They enjoyed that until one would run off with it leaving the other upset. Needless to say, that didn’t last long.
Then, they decided they wanted to run it over piles of toys. That’s when I got the bright idea to get into their container of hundreds of Hot Wheels (way more than a three year old should ever own) and lay some out over the floor. My sons drove Tankzilla back and forth over the cars and pretended like they were smashing and crashing them just like a Monster Truck would. I am pretty sure they could have done this for hours because they were having so much fun. So far, I can safely say that the truck is durable and great quality. As hard as it is to say (since they have too many toys already), I can’t wait for their next Toy State vehicle!
