I can’t believe Father’s Day is already this weekend. This year has been flying by, filled with projects, activities, family fun, and lots of work. When life is so hectic, it’s easy to forget the simple things to share appreciation or to just relax and enjoy some time with loved ones.

Dishes. Dishes. Dishes. Do they ever end? Are they ever all clean? Will I even get over of my obsession with pre-washing all the dishes before I put them in the dishwasher? I find myself spending too much time doing dishes each day. This week I have been using the new Cascade Platinum Pacs in hopes of making dish washing easier.

I spend nearly every day with my kids outdoors in the backyard in the spring and summer. Then every weekend we grill and sometimes have friends or family over for dinner. Since we entertain frequently, our backyard is full of furniture, a fire pit, two grills, and lots of toys for the kids. So for me, that means a lot of things that frequently need cleaning from being outdoors.
Last Friday, yet another severe storm ripped through the St. Louis area. When the first wave came through with tornadic conditions and extremely dark skies, we went into the basement for a short period of time. After we came upstairs, this was the view from our back door.

Trying to find time to take a non-rushed shower these days is next to impossible. I don’t know of any moms that have time to take a 30-minute (or longer) shower (or bath) every day. I mean, I’m sure there are some out there, but it’s not me. And with short, rushed showers comes no time for shaving my legs. I try to make time occasionally, but it’s not as often as I should.

Washing dishes is one of those things that seem to be never-ending. No matter how hard I try, I never seem to be caught up. It’s just one of those things I dread doing each day. This month, I am on a mission, a journey to make washing the dishes quicker and easier – as a Cascade ‘My Platinum’ Ambassador.
The last couple weeks have been hectic in my house. I didn’t even have the chance to get to the store to do my normal shopping or my bulk shopping. It is times like this, I remember one of the main reasons I stock up on everyday essentials.
