I am one of those people that enjoy cleaning. I may complain about it sometimes or get so busy it becomes overwhelming, but once I start cleaning, I can go at it all day. Call me strange if you’d like, but it’s not really a bad thing, right?
If there are two things that are never-ending in my house, it is definitely dirty laundry and dirty dishes. Yes, I have a dishwasher, but I have to run it every night, plus do some dishes by hand. If I don’t, it will get way too out of control.
When doing them by hand, there is always the possibility that I will get frustrated with a dirty pot or pan. Set-in, dried food and grease can be a pain to get out. That’s why it’s important to have a powerful dish soap on hand at all times. My soap of choice: Dawn. It doesn’t take much to get those dishes sparkling clean.
My Dawn always gets a lot of use. Every time I think I have all those dishes clean, more just appear out of nowhere (at least that’s how it seems). Between my three boys and husband, I know it is going to always be that way.
I’ve learned to embrace it. While I am standing in front of the sink, doing the dishes, I am alone. A kid or two might be trying to get my attention, but for the most part, I am alone. Can I look at it as a little ‘me time‘? Turn on some music and just keep cleaning.
Plus this ‘me time‘ also includes some beneficial skin care. With Dawn Hand Renewal, washing dishes also moisturizes the skin. After just three uses, hands are noticeably softer. I am an insane multi-tasker and I think this falls in that category.
Not only do I use it when doing the dishes, I also have it in my sink’s soap dispenser. That way I can easily access it for dishes and hand-washing. The scent is worthy of a hand soap along with the moisture benefits.
DIY Oatmeal Face Mask Recipe
So why not take a few extra minutes of my ‘me time’ to exfoliate with a face mask, as well? Dawn sent me this Oatmeal Face Mask recipe to use and it was awesome and uses items right from the kitchen.
NEED:
- 1 tablespoon ground outmeal
- 1/2 banana
- 1 teaspoon milk
TO MAKE:
- Mash the banana into a lump-free pulp.
- Mix in the milk and ground oatmeal, combining ingredients thoroughly.
- Before applying the mask, wash your face with lukewarm water to open pores and pat dry with a soft towel. In a thick layer, apply mask with clean fingers, rubbing in with a circular motion.
- Keep the mask on for 10-15 minutes and wash off with warm water.
- Splash cold water onto face to close pores, then pat dry with a towel.
