The weather here has been pretty warm the last two weeks: in the upper nineties with a ‘real feel’ over one hundred degrees. With hot temperatures comes the need to cool down quickly. One of our favorite ways to do so is an ice cold snack.
ANT-MAN just hit the theaters last Friday and my older two boys have been asking to go see it already. The amount of cleaning supplies I own may seem extreme. The cabinet under the kitchen sink is packed with sprays, scrubs, gels, towels and cleaning tools. Educational activities each day is important for the kids and me. As much as I try to enforce learning, they are one step ahead and are eager to learn new things and practice what they do know. Since the boys are pretty close in age, it makes it easier sometimes because they can all work on the same thing, and often my oldest can teach his brothers a thing or two.

This year I feel like I have been spending a lot more time reflecting on life itself and finding my center. With summer in full swing and my oldest son home every day, I do what I can to fit learning into our activities. Pulling out an activity book sometimes works, but isn’t as fun as hands-on learning and definitely doesn’t hold their attention as long. Taking learning activities to the backyard makes for hours of fun.
