Last month was pretty rough for my kids and I, as it was filled with fevers, runny noses, ear infections, coughing and RSV. It seemed just as one of them would start feeling better, another would get sick and they just passed it back and forth between the three of them. With my little guys, I am always cautious about giving them medicine and try to avoid it as much as possible. Every time I go to the store for medicine, it’s hard to pick what would be best with half an aisle and at least five shelves dedicated for children products. One brand I have always trusted is Little Remedies.
With all the different medicines on the market, I like to find ones that I know have only the needed ingredients. Little Remedies believe that ‘Less is More’, providing effective products without adding unnecessary additives, containing no saccharin, alcohol, artificial flavors, artificial coloring, dyes or harmful preservatives. Their line includes products to fight cold and flu, allergies, stomach ailments, and fever reducers. The one I use the most is Little Remedies® For Colds™ Honey Elixir.
An alternative to the traditional cough syrup, Honey Elixir naturally soothes children’s cough and sore throat due to the common cold or flu. Unlike most cough medicines, it is safe for toddlers over 12 months old. I have been using this since my oldest was just twelve months old. It always helps when they are coughing and complaining of an irritated throat. My two and three year old even asks for it when they start coughing and I don’t mind giving it to them because I know it has little ingredients and gets the job done.
Another product from Little Remedies that I like is the Little Remedies® For Fevers™ Infant Fever/Pain Reliever. It is one of the only brand name fever reducers for infants that is currently on the market. It also relieves pain from minor aches, headaches, sore throat and toothache. My one year old has been cutting four molars and sometimes I have to end up giving him a dose to help the pain. Again, it has as few as ingredients as possible to work effectively.
The Little Remedies line really does a great job of living up to their ‘more is less’ approach. Next time you are at the drug store or need some children’s medicine, check them out. You can learn more about all their products at LittleRemedies.com.
