I am guilty of skipping breakfast or lunch some days. Normally, I am frantically making my kids meals and while they are eating, I take that time to switch the dishes out of the dishwasher and clean up the kitchen. Then, within an hour or two, my stomach expresses it’s dissatisfaction with my poor eating habits and I just grab a quick little snack. That snack isn’t always a healthy choice. As I have been trying to change my eating my eating habits and decrease my junk food intake, I find myself trying to find a sweet taste with less of the guilt.
I keep fruit cups stocked in our refrigerator for my kids but I recently discovered a different take on the basic fruit cups that I found myself snacking on constantly. DOLE Fruit Parfaits are not only made with all natural fruits, but also has a light-tasting crème. There are three available flavors: Apples & Crème, Pineapple & Crème, and Peaches & Crème.
On the top of each parfait, fruit is coated with a thick syrup. Each bite is refreshing and flavorful. Under the fruit, is a layer of smooth light-tasting crème. I prefer mixing the two before I start to eat, Then I can enjoy each spoonful with some fruit and a little crème. I love all of the three flavors equally. It is too difficult for me to choice a favorite.
Now when I need a quick snack after breakfast or lunchtime, I enjoy a tasty fruit parfait, guilt-free. It is also a snack that I can share with my little ones (when I want to share). I feel comfortable letting them eat a cup after lunch or dinner because it is rich in Vitamin C, low fat, cholesterol-free and very low in sodium. The best part is they ask for them over cookies (most of the time).
You can learn more about the parfaits and other DOLE products on their website. If you want to try the DOLE Fruit Parfaits, you can find them in the canned fruit section at select grocery retailers.
