Simple No-Bake Valentine’s Day Dessert

I love making desserts and Valentine’s Day is a great excuse to make a dessert with pink colors. I have three boys, so most treats I make or even buy are blue, green, etc. But for Valentine’s Day I am sticking to the colors of love and created a kid-friendly, no-bake dessert.

Simple No Bake Valentine's Day Dessert

Mini desserts are my favorite. Last week I was thinking about Valentine’s Day and recalled a fun No-Bake Halloween Dessert I made for my little ones. I immediately started thinking of ways to make something similar this week. First, I knew I wanted to add some piped hearts and red designs on the top.

Piping with Candy Melts to Top Desserts

Ingredients:

  • Red Candy Melts (or chocolate chips)
  • 1 box of Instant White Chocolate Pudding
  • 2 Cups Milk (or amount called for on pudding box)
  • Red Food Coloring
  • Whipped Cream
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Using candy melts or melted chocolate can personalize any cupcake, dessert, or treat. Sometimes it can make it look like a professional made it and it only takes a few minutes to do.

I used about two handfuls of red Wilton Candy Melts and melted them in the microwave. If you don’t have any, you can use chocolate chips or bars (white chocolate looks awesome, too). Pour the melted candy into a sandwich bag and snip one of the corners slightly.

Squeeze out the liquid onto a wax paper covered cookie sheet. It may take some practice to get use to making designs. Remember they don’t have to be perfect. You can even print out designs you want and put it behind the wax paper and trace the lines. I just made simple hearts, squiggles, and I<3U ones. Place in the freezer for about 10 minutes to let them completely harden. Set aside.

Meanwhile, combine the white pudding mix and milk in a bowl as directed on the package. Add a few drops of red food coloring, mixing until you get an even pick color. Refrigerate as directed to set (mine only took 5 minutes).

Once set, spoon into dessert bowls. I have Libby’s Mini Flare Glasses that I love. They are perfect for the kids and just look amazing.

Next top with whipped cream. You can use an aerosol can, snipped sandwich bag, frosting decorating tip, or just a spoon depending on the look you want.

If desired, top with sprinkles. Then add one or two of the piped candies that you created earlier. Serve or store in the refrigerator to serve later in the day.
