The holiday season is just around the corner friends. Are you ready for it? I really want to just through this month, but for me, the holiday season is already on my mind. I am already planning the dinner parties and holiday events we will be hosting at our house through the end of the year. Luckily, we don’t host every single one of them. I don’t think I would survive.

As I mentioned last week, ALIVE Magazine teamed up with Mosby Building Arts to present STL Living: A Modern Home Tour & Tasting and I had the privilege of being a co-hostess at one of the homes. Last Saturday, October 24th, the attendees journeyed through the St. Louis area and viewed five of the city’s most beautiful and unique living spaces.

I am going to be honest, for over a month or so, I have really been slacking on that thing you call dinner. I haven’t been able to get my weekly meal plans together over the weekend and the week days have just been completely busy and often leaving me scrambling for a quick meal.
We had our home built almost four years ago, which really isn’t that long ago. Home improvement should be the last thing on my mind, right? Well, that’s just not the case. There is just something about remodeling that really sparks my interest. I am always on the lookout for inspiration and ideas to finish the basement or remodel the kitchen (and/or every other room in my house). That is one reason I am excited to be co-hosting this amazing event on Saturday!

Weekends mean a few different things to me. It definitely doesn’t mean no work. Since I work from home, I don’t get take the weekend off. However, it is two days that everyone in the family is home together. No school for my oldest and no work for my husband. That means movie nights, sleeping in, and special weekend breakfast.

No matter what happens throughout each year, the month of October always seems to be my favorite. The days may start to get shorter and our schedules may become more full, but it is worth it. Chilly nights, apple picking, falling leaves, bonfires, and scarf weather are just some of my fall favorites.
