I know I am not alone here, so someone tell me you’ve started putting Halloween decorations up already. I admit, in the past I always waited until October 1st to do so. Then last year I think I started a few days sooner. This year, some were already up last week. I just couldn’t wait any longer.
It’s the first week of October, which means my family is in full-fledged Halloween mode. Decorations have been put up, fake webbing is strung throughout our house and the kids’ costumes have already been purchased. Creating Halloween themed treats can be a fun family activity. Plus the results are tasty, like these Monster Treats on a Stick.

No matter what happens throughout each year, the month of October always seems to be my favorite. The days may start to get shorter and our schedules may become more full, but it is worth it. Chilly nights, apple picking, falling leaves, bonfires, and scarf weather are just some of my fall favorites.

October has been filled with a bunch of Fall themed crafts and activities. The boys are loving all the things involving pumpkins, leaves, and apples. However, I know they are patiently waiting for the candy treats. To get them psyched about Halloween, I made them a spooky dessert and juice snack.
Decorating this year for Halloween has been a lot of fun. The boys are finally old enough to really enjoy the holiday fun. For the last few weeks, we have been slowly adding decorations to the house and making Halloween crafts. For the latest addition, I made and framed a 5×7 subway art to complete our mantle.
